Envisioning the Future of Cultural Communities is a 3 hour interactive workshop taking place on Saturday 7th October 2023, from 10am to 1pm, this event is free, but by invitation only.
CMCCF is a non-profit organization that brings together diverse individuals to promote the well-being of Manitoba’s cultural communities. We are dedicated to building relationships based on trust, respect, and dignity.
For the past 11 years, we have been working within our cultural community networks to reduce vulnerabilities and amplify diverse voices to create safe spaces that meet the needs of our communities.
We are proud to deliver this event alongside our partner organisations, Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO), African Communities of Manitoba Inc. (ACOMI), The Ethnocultural Council of Manitoba (EECM), and The Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA).
Promoting social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion is essential for creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all. In order to do this, we believe it is important for communities to come together and discuss important themes such as social justice and equity, diversity and inclusion, health and wellness, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
These conversations will help identify and address issues of inequality and discrimination, promote diversity and inclusion, and support the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of all members, as well as promote sustainable practices and the economic development of the communities.
This event will be a studio production of community dialogue in partnership with UMulticultural that hopes to create a space for conversation and collaboration about the future of cultural communities in Canada. The event will be recorded for future broadcast and use on our website and social media platforms. Lunch will be provided, and comfort and reflection breaks will be available.
