March 24, 2026 CMCCF Social Justice Award Celebration

This is a Celebration for Our Peace-First lens for this Youth Social Justice Award and CMCCF’s Social Justice Emeritus Award – 2025

Both of these awards are rooted in CMCCF’s Peace-First lens, an approach that honours those who build peace long before conflict demands it. Rather than waiting for harm to appear, Peace-First leadership cultivates the everyday conditions that allow dignity, justice, and belonging to take root across difference within cultural culturalcommunities and beyond. This award invites us to recognize that social justice is not only about responding to what is broken, but about nurturing what makes us whole. A Social Justice Emeritus Award recipient, through a Peace-First lens, is someone whose lifetime of work has helped cultivate the conditions for peace before conflict arises, and sustain dignity, justice, and belonging across difference within their cultural community and beyond.
