World Values Day Participation

The Wisdom of Hardship Initiative is a solidarity initiative of the Coalition of Manitoba Cultural Communities for Families Inc. from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with a network of individuals who came together from many places in the world at the very beginning of our worldwide pandemic.

We participated in World Values Day on October 15, 2020, and now again in World Values Day on 21st October 2021. This is an annual worldwide campaign to increase the awareness and practice of values around the world. Values are what matter most to us. They are our motivators, the passion in our hearts, and the reason we do the things we do.

This year the theme is ‘Reconnecting’.  We are all living through a time of enormous uncertainty and disruption. This means we need to deepen our understanding of values and how they connect us with our sense of self, with others, and with the wider world. So this World Values Day let’s use our values to reconnect with one another and with what matters most in our lives.

Our Theme, Purpose and Context

Creative Cultures of Peace Where all Voices do Matter!

This will be a 90 minute interactive session (21st October 2021 – 4PM CET) where we will start by exploring your core values in relation to how they connect to our framework of three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: Peace, Partnership and Well-being. The crux question is how do we remain true to ourselves and our core values during the current pandemic?

Peace is our context. Partnership is our methodology. Well-being is our personal outcome and results.

Throughout this session we will have a well-known and respected presenter from Brazil, Moema Viezzer, who will engage us on her experience in focusing attention on these three sustainable goals, how she has lived these values, including the challenges in doing so. We will have additional opportunities to engage with each other. Your voices will be encouraged to connect your values to how you are now as well as how you will be as you live these three goals in your life and within your community. We always end our sessions by asking for your “CALL TO ACTION”, as a way to focus your attention on what matters the most to you.

REGISTRATION: Please note the registration is now closed.
